The Awra Amba Experience is a collaborative web documentary about a small group of people in Ethiopia who have founded a new, progressive way of life based on equality and peace, that has lifted them out of extreme poverty.
This fascinating story will be told online to a global audience, allowing them to explore the village through 360 panoramas, learn about their way of life in short documentary films as well as contribute their own ideas for a better, more sustainable world.

Menstrual hygiene in India – for UNICEF

In India, menstrual hygiene has been a taboo for centuries. This film tells the uplifting story of two young women, one in rural and the other in urban India, who have overcome the fears and myths surrounding menstruation. A new sanitary napkin factory has encouraged women and girls to start using pads instead of rags, and spreading awareness of the importance of hygiene. In the suburbs of Mumbai, women have been employed at another sanitary pad unit, which is giving them financial independence.

THORNS AND SILK is an award-winning short documentary, directed by Paulina Tervo. The film tells four unusual stories from the West Bank, featuring women who work in male-dominated jobs. All four have the courage to break traditional rules, but not without challenges.
We dip into the life of a wedding filmmaker, who films women-only weddings in the most conservative part of the West Bank; hear the stories of a female taxi driver who works in the Israeli parts of Jerusalem; discover a young, dreamy police trainee at the national police academy and learn about the hardships in occupied Nablus from a mother who takes on male roles to keep her family toilet paper factory going.
